Full Install / Update
A complete full update and wipe of an 825 Gen2 can be accomplished using a microSD card.
Patch Updates
The OS/Std Apps version may show a patch update number in the version "-XX-" such as 1.21.004-03-5.15.50
How to install a patch
The 825 Gen2 file manager allows for various updates from USB or network (local or Internet).
825 Gen2 indicators with version 1.21.004-02 or later also allow updates to be performed from the "Administration" web page.
Internet download/install
- Connect the 825 to a network with internet access
- From the application menu select “File Manager”
- Login – default ADMIN password: 81440
- Select “Download an update file from Internet”
- At the “Code:” prompt type the update code provided by Cardinal. Press ENTER
- Display will show File “upd….” Downloaded successfully”.
- Select “Install or update”
- Display will show “Are you sure?” Click “Yes” to proceed.
- Display will show “After shutdown – cycle power” after a few seconds the 825 will shutdown.
- Turn the power off and back on.
USB Installation
- Copy the update file such as upd825_YYYY-MM-DD.tgz to a USB flash drive. Do not uncompress the file. The 825gen2 will do the extract and install.
- From the application menu select “File Manager”
- Login – default ADMIN password: 81440
- Select “Choose an update file from USB Flash”
- The prompt “Insert USB flash drive” will appear. Be sure the drive is inserted and click “Yes” to continue.
- Select the appropriate file name that matches the update such as upd825_YYYY_MM_DD.
- Select “Install or update”
- Display will show “Are you sure?” Click “Yes” to proceed.
- Display will show “After shutdown – cycle power” after a few seconds the 825 will shutdown.
