microSD Card Update
An 825gen2 may be updated using a microSD card. This will wipe all data.

Use an FTP program such as FileZilla to download the microSD card image. Contact your Cardinal Representative for download details.
The download file is a 7-zip compressed file that contains the microSD card image.
Extract this file to a local drive to obtain the microSD card image. Use a program such as BelenaEtcher to write the image to a microSD card.
microSD card will be fully overwritten - any existing files on card will be lost
Be sure to check that correct destination drive is selected in BelenaEtcher before performing write to microSD card
(Preferred microSD card size at least 16G).
To install to 825:
- Power off 825.
- Insert microSD card in mainboard.
- Insert boot jumper.
- Power on 825.
- Press "LEGAL METROLOGY INFORMATION / SETUP" button
- Press "SETUP MENU" button
- Press keyboard button to show on-screen keyboard and type "ADMIN"
- Press down arrow and type password "81440"
- Press "Install from microSD"
- Press "Yes", press down arrow and type "CONFIRM". Press "ENTER".
- Installation messages will appear for several minutes.
- When finished display will show "Yocto Installed Successfully"
- Wait for screen to return to setup menu
- Power off 825
- Remove the microSD card
- Remove the boot jumper.
- Power on the 825.
- Confirm that 825 boots up showing the "Cardinal" startup screen
By default a new install will have COM1 enabled for diagnostics. This will interfere with apps using COM1 for other activities such as bar code scanner. Perform the following steps to turn off COM1 console mode.
- Press "LEGAL METROLOGY INFORMATION / SETUP" button
- Press "SETUP MENU" button
- Press keyboard button to show on-screen keyboard and type "ADMIN"
- Press down arrow and type password "81440"
- Press "Communication" and "Comm Port 1 Defaults"
- Press down arrow repeatedly until "Console:" prompt is selected.
- Press "N" to set console to "No". Press "ENTER".
