There are three modes supported

| HDMI Only | LCD display is inactive - User interface is on HDMI output |
| LCD and HDMI | User interface is on LCD, Apps may utilize HDMI output for display of images or video |
The 825gen2 display less version has no built-in LCD display. However, the initial image sets the unit LCD mode so it is necessary to change the unit to HDMI mode without being able to see the display.
- Plug in a USB keyboard to the 825gen2.
- Power on the unit.
- After initial startup beeps and within five seconds press ALT-F5 on the USB keyboard. This initiates the display change mode. A sequence of beeps will sound to confirm the command was received.
- Press ALT-F8 within five seconds of hearing the response to ALT-F5. This specifies the desired display mode HDMI. (Alternatively, ATL-F7 may be used to return to LCD mode).
- Press ALT-F4 within five seconds of hearing the previous response. This saves the desired display change. A sequence of beeps will sound and then the 825gen2 will shutdown.
- Wait a minute after hearing the response to ALT-F4 and then cycle power to restart the 825gen2.
