= Serial Ports =

The 825 Gen2 has three built in serial ports

||COM1||RS232 with RTS/CTS handshake lines||
||COM2||RS232 or 20mA current loop based on jumper selection on main board||
||COM3||RS232 or RS485 based on jumper selection and software configuration||

For 825 Gen2 app development it is recommended to use the [wiki:Docs/Prog/Manual/ApplicationLibraries/lib825ev/Comm/CCommSerial CCommSerial] class provided in the library lib825ev for serial communications.
